Aker ASA (Aker) traces it roots back to 1841, to a smithy with industrial ambitions on the banks of the Akerselva river in Christiania (Oslo). For the past 175 years, Aker has led the development of internationally focused, knowledge-based industry in Norway.
Solstad Offshore ASA (‘Solstad’) has together with Aker ASA (‘Aker’), and with indicative support from its lending banks and bondholders, developed a financing plan to strengthen Solstad’s balance sheet.
Aker Capital AS and Aker Capital II AS ("Aker"), two wholly-owned subsidiaries of Aker ASA, have today entered into an agreement with Lerøy Seafood Group ASA ("Lerøy") to sell Aker's 63.21 per cent ownership stake in Havfisk ASA ("Havfisk") for NOK 36.50 per share and Aker's 73.63 per cent ownership stake in Norway Seafoods Group AS ("Norway Seafoods") for NOK 1.0 per share. Havfisk Chairman and Aker Chief Financial Officer Frank O. Reite has also agreed to sell his 1 026 632 shares in Havfisk for NOK 36.50 per share. Reite holds his shares through the company Fausken Invest AS.
Norway Royal Salmon ASA (NRS) and Aker ASA (Aker) today submitted a joint application for development licenses for the farming of salmon. Together, the companies have developed a new offshore aquaculture farming concept that facilitates sustainable growth in areas that the aquaculture technology thus far has not been able to exploit

Following an investigation into a total return swap (TRS) agreement entered into by Aker ASA with exposure to shares in Aker Solutions ASA, the Financial Supervisory Authority informed Aker on 24 January 2013 that the case has been turned over to the economic and environmental crimes authority (Oekokrim) on the grounds of potential violation of insider trading rules.
Aker ASA has recruited Edward Ross (39) as investment director responsible for Aker Solutions ASA, Kvaerner ASA, Det norske oljeselskap ASA and Ocean Yield ASA, with effect from September 2013.
30 April 2013 - Aker ASA has today entered into a TRS (Total Return Swap) agreement with exposure to 1 500 000 shares in Aker Solutions ASA. The expiration date of the TRS agreement is November 1st 2013 and the settlement price in the agreement is NOK 83.717325 share.
Aker has renewed an international framework agreement with Fellesforbundet, IndustriALL Global Union, NITO and Tekna. The agreement unites and commits the parties to cooperation between Aker-owned companies, employees and society at large.

Liv Monica B. Stubholt has taken over as Aker Clean Carbon’s Board Chairman. Today, it was also announced that she will serve as Interim President and CEO of Aker Seafoods.
In a letter to Aker, Ghana’s Minister of Energy asserts that the company’s offshore exploration and development license in Ghana is invalid. Aker does not see any foundation for such an assertion.
The Aker Barents drilling rig is in the week ending January 24 expected to arrive at the yard in Ølen on the west coast of Norway,. The rig will remain at Ølen for four to six weeks for repair work and equipment installation.
Aker has today signed an agreement regarding two purchasing transactions of together six million shares in Det norske oljeselskap ASA from DNO International. After a potential completion of both transactions, Aker’s ownership in Det norske increases to 32.6 per cent. If the shareholders in Aker Exploration and Det norske approve of the proposed merger between the two companies, Aker will hold 40.5 per cent of the combined company.
